We were delighted to have been appointed by Wrexham AFC to manage their Extraordinary Resolution Voting, ensuring Wrexham Supporters Trust (WST) members could have their say on the Members Approved Sale of Wrexham AFC to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
The historic Welsh club has been under fan ownership since 2011. To determine this moment in history, Wrexham appointed Mi-Voice to manage the entire voting process, including two voting rounds, one at the Club’s virtual SGM and the other to ratify the proposed takeover.
Prior to voting opening for the second round of voting, a virtual club meeting took place on Sunday 8th November 2020. The new owners showcased their vision for the club and members were invited to ask questions. Voting instructions were then sent to members providing them with a week to vote on the takeover.
The majority of members voted online, with postal ballots distributed to any member without a registered email address. Voting remained open until Sunday 15th November 2020.
There was significant turnout for the ballot at 91.5%. Over 2000 WST members participated, with an overwhelming 98.6% members voting in favour of the takeover. 26 voted against the takeover and 9 abstained.
We would like to offer our congratulations to the new owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and wish them every success in their new venture!
