Since 2006, Mi-Voice has been at the heart of democratic participation – helping thousands of organisations around the world run nominations, elections, ballots, and general meetings with confidence.
We started with a straightforward mission: make voting simpler, more accessible, and more meaningful. From our earliest clients – Southampton City Council Youth Parliament, the Institute of Physics, Manchester University, and the Architectural Association, to the thousands of organisations we serve today across the globe, that mission has grown into twenty years of trusted expertise and millions of votes cast.
In 2017, this was formally recognised when Mi-Voice became a UK Government-approved independent scrutineer.
We work with trade unions and political parties, housing associations and NHS Trusts, universities, schools, charities, co-operatives, and everything in between – across the UK and internationally, including Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Over those twenty years, voting has transformed dramatically, from paper ballots and early e-voting platforms to fully hybrid and virtual meetings with secure, real-time participation. We’ve evolved alongside it every step of the way. As voting scenarios have grown more complex, so have our solutions, including the launch of our Zoom and Microsoft Teams voting apps, making in-meeting participation more accessible than ever.
And through every technological shift, one thing has never changed: democracy only works when people feel their voice matters. That’s why participation has always been more than just a metric – it’s the whole point.
Every ballot designed, every voting platform built, every meeting hosted carries the same intention: to make it as easy as possible for every member to engage, to vote, and to be heard. Because when more people participate, decisions are stronger, communities are better represented, and organisations are more accountable to the people they serve.
Twenty years on, our mission is the same as it was the day Southampton City Council Youth Parliament cast their first vote with us. Every organisation we’ve worked with, every ballot we’ve run, and every voice we’ve helped to be heard has brought us to this moment.
Here’s to the next twenty years – and to every vote that matters along the way!
