Mi-Voice Student – encouraging democracy participation

Mi-Voice Student is a secure e-voting platform that encourages students to participate in democratic events such as School Council elections by allowing young people to vote either on-line or by sending a text message.

"Personally I was impressed with Mi-Voice; I managed to get through the whole of year 10 in under an hour. I also observed quite a few of them trying to vote twice and being denied, which I was pleased about. The voter numbers came through promptly and the detailed results were very beneficial. The students enjoyed the experience and as they are now aware of the system it should make further votes equally enjoyable and manageable."

Darren McGinley – Pastoral Support Officer, Cefn Hengoed Community School

Benefits of electronic voting include:

Mi-Voice Student allows you to run as many elections or referendums as you want throughout the year. Setting up an election takes a matter of minutes and no additional equipment is required because everything is managed on-line through a secure website. Full documentation and support is provided as part of the annual licence fee.

"When we were looking for a tool to engage the Student Voice through the use of new technologies we felt like we had struck gold to find Mi-Voice, it is simple to use but secure and powerful and has enabled us to tap into every child's opinion via their beloved mobile phones and internet."

Paul Haigh – Specialist College Coordinator, Notre Dame High School
